Strategies to fight COVID-19 in Chandigarh

Authorities strategies to fight against covid 19 in chandigarh, to combat the rapid increase to cases in the region. The UT Administration has implemented a three-pronged strategy. Meanwhile the city currently has 4,902 active cases since adding 711 new Covid cases.

“To completely overcome the pandemic in the city, we have taken three steps: testing, isolation (micro-containment zone), and vaccination,” said UT Adviser Manoj Parida.

Further, they had increased testing in order to identify infected people more quickly. In addition to testing at government hospitals and private laboratories, mobile testing teams are also into rapid action, he said. In the region, 3,82,125 samples have been through testing so far, out of a population of nearly 12 lakh.

The vaccine has been given to 1,71,118 people so far, with 49,476 first-time recipients in the 45-60 age group. Likewise, 2,507 second-time recipients in the same age group.

UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore instructed the authorities to concentrate on crowded areas such as markets, malls, railway stations, ISBT, and other places. Above all these are the places where the people must follow Covid protocol strictly, as well as challan defaulters. As after the authorities decided not to enforce the weekend lockdown yesterday.

So far, there has been nearly 62,000 people by executive magistrates for failing to obey the Covid code of conduct in the region.

Vaccination in chandigarh is the only solution

The Administrator has been directing officials, councilors, business groups, and resident health organizations to encourage citizens to wear masks and get vaccination in chandigarh.

“Vaccination is the only long-term option for preventing virus spread. On Saturday, we received 1 lakh doses of the vaccine from the Indian government for Chandigarh,” said UT Adviser Manoj Parida.

On Saturday, the city reported 711 cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 4,902. With three more deaths, the total number of people killed has risen to 433. So far, the UT has seen 37,943 cases. A total of 428 people have now been cured of the infection of covid in chandigarh.
