Chandigarh International Airport to reopen in June

The authorities have decided to reopen Chandigarh International Airport by June under the guidelines of the Airport Authority of India (AAI). The flights had been shut down due to the pandemic of COVID-19. It was observed that the virus travelled from outside India.

Lockdown 4.0 bought many relaxations for the individuals and reopening of Chandigarh International Airport is one of them. The authorities have been considering recently reopening the flights under strict protocols.

Earlier, the airport was closed for 20 days for the expansion of the runway.

Guidelines

As per the guidelines, the passengers will be instructed to carry a hand sanitizer, wear a mask, and must download the Aarogya Setu app which is available on both Android and iOS devices. The social distancing must be maintained by the passengers and the crew members.

The guidelines provided by the authorities require the passengers to do a web check-in and to carry a print out of the boarding card. The passengers must maintain a distance of 4 feet from their co-passengers. The staff at the airport must follow the required protocol for the screening of passengers.

What’s happening at Chandigarh International Airport

The officials reported that they are waiting for the written orders from the Airport Authorities of India, after receiving such order immediate actions will be taken. The Chandigarh International Airport have been prepared for the flights to take off.

According to the recent updates, the provided guidelines are being followed. The sanitization will be done at the airport following the instructions of the health department.

The domestic flights had been scheduled for June and will be on the board as soon as the airport reopens in June.

Also, Air India hadn’t started the reservations for the flights yet. Last month, the reopening was under consideration whereas it was not permitted due to a major hike in coronavirus cases. The dates for the reservations of the flights will be announced shortly.
