UT administration provides relaxations in Chandigarh curfew as the cases declines.
The UT Administration has agreed to allow a few relaxations in the restrictions imposed on May 4 to curb the spread of Covid due to a significant reduction in the number of Covid-19 incidents, loss of livelihood for daily wagers, and disruption in economic activities.
It was agreed at a review meeting chaired by UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore to open all shops from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting tomorrow, subject to strict adherence to the Covid protocol. There will be sanitization of the stores. Both customers entering the stores, as well as those who assist them, should wear a mask.
The marketing associations in question would have to ensure that masks are available in shops and at market entry points.
Shopping malls, cinema halls, theatres, museums, gymnasiums, libraries, spas, salons, Sukhna Lake, and the Rock Garden, however, will remain closed.
Restaurants, restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, and eating establishments have permission to operate for the purpose of home delivery. Inside the venue, however, no seating arrangements will be permitted. Orders for home delivery are until 10 p.m. and takeout orders are until 5 p.m easing restrictions in Chandigarh curfew.
The chandigarh night curfew will remain in effect from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. to avoid parties and gatherings.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Sampark Centres will be open.

Badnore shared concern about the number of people who have died as a result of Covid. He instructed the Secretary of Social Welfare that children who had become orphaned as a result of Covid be cared for in government welfare homes.
If the Covid situation in the city did not change, the Administrator claimed that restrictions would be checked and re-imposed.
