Administration extends odd even in Mohali till May 31

The administration states that the shops will open as per odd even in Mohali till May 31. As the state government declares the extension of the current lockdown until May 31. The district administration agrees to strictly enforce all restrictions. In Mohali, however, the shops will be opened on an odd-even basis.

DC Girish Dayalan states and permits that odd-even shops in Mohali will open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, no shopping malls or single/multi-brand retail standalone shops to open. Except for shops selling essential goods in these malls/complexes. He mentioned that all shops in the district’s three subdivisions of Mohali, Kharar, and Dera Bassi will remain open.

Odd-even in Mohali

According to Dayalan, when it comes to government and private offices, the orders state that private offices may open without a separate permit during the lockdown. To prevent crowding and congestion, only 33% of workers should be called at any given time, and all office heads should promote work from home.

The staff/employees in question can only travel “to and from” their workplaces with their ID cards, and any abuse would result in severe penalties, he added.

According to the DC, restaurants/eateries should only be available for home delivery until 9 p.m. Also, both the management and the customer will be held responsible for any violations of lockdown.

Self-employed services such as electricians, plumbers, IT repairs, and so on would also be permitted, he added.

Private offices will nominate covid controllers, and their names will be prominently displayed. They will be in charge of ensuring to follow the Covid and lockdown guidelines. All private offices should make certain that their workers are screened regularly, preferably every two weeks. Anyone exhibiting symptoms should isolate and be checked right away, he said.

A shop owner, Jatinder Dhamija, said, “Staggered odd-even opening of shops in Mohali is much better than closing all of them.” This way, we can do some business and help our families.”

Apart from the regular lockdown restrictions, the DC stated that the weekend curfew would remain in effect and that all shops will close at 6 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday. The shops will close at 6 p.m. every day. They restrict vehicle movement as well.
