Chandigarh Rose Garden is a blooming paradise. This is a garden with mesmerizing flowers, trees, and plants. It is a beautiful and a place worth a visit. It is one of the memorable experiences of visiting Chandigarh.

Rock Garden Chandigarh is the largest garden in Asia being one of its kinds. The astonishing garden was built in 1967. Rose Garden Chd was built under the guidance of MS Randhawa, First Chief Commissioner.

Chd Rose Garden is also known as Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, named after the former President of India.

Location

The Rose Garden Chandigarh is located in Sector 16. The garden is over 30 acres with a huge variety of flowers alluring many tourists and nature enthusiasts.

The Chd Rose Garden is located next to the city center making it accessible for the residents to visit for family picnics and educational visits.

Attractions

The exhibit shows around 825 varieties of flowers and 32,500 varieties of trees and medicinal plants. The medicinal plants like Bel, Behera, Harar, Camphor, and Yellow Gulmohar are present in the garden. There are more than 16,000 species of rose bushes almost 50,000 in number in the Rose Garden Chandigarh.   

The flowers in the garden are flower beds as landscapes by expert gardeners of Rose Garden Sector 16.

In addition, Rose Garden Chandigarh is full of long stretches of green grass to walk. There are several benches under shady trees for visitors to relax.

The long curved paths all over the garden for the joggers.  The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden Chandigarh has a pond-like structure with a beautiful fountain that is very peaceful to watch.

There are some food stalls nearby the entrance of the garden.

The Rose Festival

The Rose Festival at Rose Garden Chandigarh is a grand event organized every year by the authorities. The festival is organized by the end of the month of February. It lasts until the starting of March. Thus, it is a three days event.

Almost 20,000 visitors gather for the Rose Garden Festival at Rose Garden Chandigarh across the country.

In addition to the exhibition of an abundant variety of roses, there are many cultural events, competitions, and other activities.

The entrance of the Zakin Hussain Rose Garden Chandigarh is elegantly decorated and is one of the main attractions of the festival.

Particularly, the main road outside the garden is usually under restriction for vehicles. It is for safety as there are a huge number of visitors roaming on the road.

The entrance has an exhibition of photographs of flowers by many experienced photographers. The garden area is full of attention-grabbing statutes made by trimming the bushes.

There are performances by famous artists in the open area. There is a prize distribution for the winners of respective competitions.

Furthermore, a helicopter ride is an addition to the festival for the visitors to enjoy the view of the City Beautiful Chandigarh.

Moreover, the alluring food stalls and upbeat music dominates the garden making it an amazing experience.

The Rose Garden timings

Generally, the visiting hours for the Rose Garden Chandigarh are from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm. While during the Rose Garden Festival the timings may differ.

The entry fee charges Rs 50 for both Adults and Kids.

However, there are no charges for the entry of the Rose Garden Festival.
