The Rock Garden Chandigarh has been divided into different phases. Each phase has different alluring installations which makes it more special.
The Rock Garden is located in Sector 1, Uttar Marg of the city beautiful Chandigarh. Chandigarh Rock Garden is located in between Sukhna Lake and Capitol Building. It is a 40-acre garden full of artwork and sculptures.
Rock Garden Chd is also known as Nek Chand’s Rock Garden. This place is a set up made by Nek Chand single-handedly in 1957. It is one of the symbols of impressive imagination and novelty in the city.
The Garden Ticket for an amazing tour of Rock Garden Chandigarh is under affordable rates. Rock Garden Ticket is Rs 20 for adults and Rs 10 for kids.
Chandigarh Rock Garden is open for seven days of the week and both during summers and winters.
In summers (1st April to 30th September) the timings are 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In the same way, during winters (1st October to 31st March) the timings are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Phases of Rock Garden Chandigarh
Rock Garden Chd consists of some captivating man-made waterfalls which a bonus during summers. The visitors experience the refreshing cool breeze from these waterfalls. Moreover, it attracts photographers and painters to be a relaxing and beautiful place to watch. Additionally, it has sculptures of humans and animals made from the wastes.
In the first place, Phase one of Chd Rock Garden is a web of terracotta pots, chambers, and compartments decorated with mirrors, broken bangles, tiles, tube light pieces, broken toilet pots, and other wastes. The area has the installation of several statues of animals, birds, humans, and other figures made out of urban and industrial wastes.
In the same way, you will encounter figures with different poses depicting various activities like women holding pots, and much more.
The second phase of Rock Garden Chd is the crowd puller of the garden. The phase consists of astonishing and huge waterfalls. Similarly, the spectacular attractions of the garden are amphitheatres, courtyards, and tricky pathways along with a miniature village.
The administration organizes many festive programs like Teej Celebrations for celebrating monsoon and womanhood. Such celebrations in Rock Garden Chandigarh bind the community together with a sense of harmony and mutual well being.
Phase three has the installation of camels and elephants along with a courtyard made of chiselled rocks. In addition, it has recently added a mini aquarium with beautiful fishes and funny mirrors too.
The courtyard has swings and an open theatre for cultural events. There is a canteen for some refreshments. However, there are not enough good food joints in the garden.
The best time to visit Chd Rock Garden is during the colder hours of the day. Furthermore, the visitors must maintain the cleanliness of the premises by not littering.
It is a recommended place for school trips to make kids aware of the best out of wastes and enhance their creativity.
The area of the garden with waterfalls is a good place for photo shoots.
