Panjab University’s Department of Library and Information Science observed International Museum Day online.
“The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine” was the theme of the gathering. The program began with a brief overview of the day’s past and meaning. Since 1977, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has organized the event to raise awareness about the importance of museums. They are portrayed in terms of cultural exchange, cultural enrichment, and promoting innovation, imagination, as well as an appreciation for diversity on museum day. The council’s headquarters are in Paris.

Many of the department’s faculty members spoke about the importance of museums in society on museums day. They emphasised that museums are more than just repositories for artefacts and artefacts; they serve as a mirror to culture, reflecting humanity’s tangible and intangible heritage.
Students participated in a variety of events, including displaying a 3-D virtual tour of the world’s museums on museum day.

They stressed that museums are more than just collections of artefacts and artefacts; they also serve as a mirror to culture, reflecting on humanity’s tangible and intangible heritage.
Students indeed participated in a variety of events, including a 3D virtual tour of some of the world’s most prestigious museums. And also sharing their thoughts about how to keep museums alive in the future through creative solutions on museums day.
